Get the perfect image every time with background removal tools

Remove Background

One of the most obvious tells on whether or not you know what you’re doing design-wise is how you use your images. When it comes to creating professional designs, one of the most important details is the background. An image with a busy or unappealing background can take away from the overall look of the design. There are many ways to remove backgrounds from images, but one of the easiest and most user-friendly ways is to use a background remover tool like Canva. Canva is a free online design platform that offers a wide variety of templates for flyers, posters, and more. To use Canva’s background remover tool, simply upload the image you’d like to edit, select “Background Remover” from the left-hand menu, and follow the prompts. In just a few clicks, you can have a clean and professional looking image that is ready to be used in your next design project! Now, this feature is only available if you have a pro account, but stick around and I’ll show you another great tool you can use for free! To use Canva’s background removal tool: Upload your own image or choose one from our image library. Click on the Edit Image button on the top toolbar. Next, select ‘BG Remover’ on the left side panel that appears. Then, click ‘Erase’ to remove the background. After clicking ‘Erase’, like magic, the background will disappear. Once satisfied with your photo’s look without a background, select ‘Apply’ to save the changes. Or select ‘Restore’ to undo any changes. Finally, simply drag your new image into the perfect spot. If you don’t have Canva Pro, there’s a free tool you can use called Remove.bg. You simply upload your image and press the big button! Of course then you’ll need to download and upload the new image to Canva to use it in your design, so that’s another step. But if you don’t have Canva Pro, this is a great way to get rid of those pesky backgrounds. Remove.bg is also more powerful than Canva’s background remover, at least in my experience. It can identify strands of hair, and will remove backgrounds far more cleanly on even a very busy image. You can play around with some of the ready made backgrounds available to fill into your newly edited image….or download and use elsewhere. Enjoy!

A Powerful Screen Capture Tool Can Make Life A Lot Easier

Screen capture software is a valuable tool for bloggers, online content creators, and honestly just about anybody who has to do any kind of work on a computer. It can be used to take pictures of your computer screen, or to capture a specific area of a website. There are many different screen capture tools available, but one of the best is the free Awesome Screenshot extension for Chrome. Are you looking for an easy way to take screenshots and record videos of your computer screen? If so, the Awesome Screenshot chrome extension is the perfect tool for you. This free extension allows you to take screenshots of any part of your screen, as well as record video of your screen. You can also use it to annotate your screenshots with text and arrows. The Awesome Screenshot extension is very easy to use. After installing it, just click on the Awesome Screenshot icon in your Chrome toolbar to start taking screenshots or recording videos. The extension also includes a variety of tutorials that can help you get started quickly. If you need to take a screenshot or record a video of your computer screen for work or school, the Awesome Screenshot chrome extension is the perfect tool for you. Did I mention it’s free? To install the free extension, go to the Chrome Web Store which automatically display the extensions section. Search for Awesome Screenshot and select “add to chrome.” When you add a new extension to your chrome browser, it may not show up right away in your extsions bar especially if you have a lot of other extensions already. You’ll need to pin it. To do that, select the puzzle icon (which is the icon for your extensions, and select the pin next to Awesome Screenshot. Now it will display. Next, you’ll need to go through a few more housekeeping tasks to get the extension up and running. These are one-time tasks…however if you log out and back into into your chrome browser, you’ll have to do this again. After clicking Grant Access, you’ll need to allow Awesome Screenshot to access your camera and microphone. This is a standard notification that always pops up by the URL of your browser when a site or tool requires access to your camera and/or microphone. Depending on your computer’s security settings, a message like the one below may then pop up. Again, if you intend to utilize the camera/mic recording features, you must ensure your computer’s privacy settings allow it. In this example, I’m using a mac and all I need to do is Open System Preferences… …head over to the Privacy tab in Security & Privacy, and give Google Chrome permission to record the contents of my screen. Now we can use Awesome Screenshots any time. There are two tabs–one for screen capturing and once for screen recording. The capture tab allows us to capture the visible part of the screen, the full page, a selected area, or even the entirety of your screen & app window (in other words, what you see on your monitor including things outside of Chrome). You can even set a delay which is super useful for capturing drop-down menus! The Record tab is somewhat similar — record the desktop, just the tab, a custom area, or even just your webcam. You can turn your webcam on for simultaneous recording of yourself and your screen, turn the microphone only off, even turn on/off the tab sound! Note: Free version users are limited to 720p resolution. This is good enough for a lot of people, but you’ll want higher quality if you want to record, say, lengthy how-to tutorials with lots of text. When you select part of a screen to capture, you’re able to annotate it before taking the picture or wait till you take the snap. All the annotation tools on the right and the text tool on the right are available to free users. These are very useful and more than enough for the average user. Pro users get additional tools like call outs, emojis, the and the ability to add an image to the screenshot. When you make a selection, you can capture which will take you to the next workflow or just copy the screenshot. I personally use the copy features A LOT because it’s fewer clicks. One of my most common use case scenarios is inserting a screenshot into the body of an email, and selecting Copy is the easiest way to do that with the fewest clicks! If you select Capture, Awesome Screenshots takes you to their own site. Here you can annotate, download the image to your computer, download as pdf, copy again, and print. If you recorded video and the file is too big to attach to an email, a handy feature is the Get shareable link button which lets you quickly share a link to your recording (or image) without having to worry about file attachment size. Finally, you can make use of the Awesome Screenshot’s service and actually store your files. However, unless you plan to upgrade to a paid account, this is completely unnecessary. And if you are interested in leveling up, these are the prices. But for the average person who just needs a solid browser-based screen capture tool, free is more than enough! Awesome Screenshot is an excellent tool for capturing screenshots and recording screen activity. It is easy to use and has a variety of features that make it a versatile tool for any user. Whether you are a student, teacher, librarian, business person, or just need to take a quick screenshot, Awesome Screenshot is the perfect tool for the job.

How to Use Facebook’s Free Planner to Schedule Content for Your Business

Plan your facebook posts with the free facebook content planner

Are you looking for a way to better plan your Facebook posts? If so, you should consider using Facebook’s free content planner. The planner allows you to schedule your posts in advance, which can help you ensure that your Facebook page remains active and engaging. The planner also allows you to see how your posts will look when they’re published, which can help you determine which posts are most likely to be successful. There are a lot of great tools out there to help you with your social media, but one of the most popular (not to mention 100% free) is Facebook. With 1.94 billion active users, it’s a great place to share your content and connect with your audience. But scheduling and creating that content can take up a lot of time.  That’s where the Facebook content planner comes in. This free tool from Facebook (I should say, technically it’s Meta….) allows you to schedule your posts, save time, and optimize your page for success. You can create posts, and events, as well as manage your groups and ads.  The planner is easy to use – just log in with your Facebook account and get started. You can create a post by typing in what you want to say, selecting an image or video from your computer or from Facebook’s library, and setting the date and time you want it to publish. Here’s the nitty gritty. Step 1: Go to https://business.facebook.com/ Though you can write posts from the regular facebook.com/your-business, the business hub is much more fully-featured than the vanilla facebook experience. It’s made for business and organizations and aims to make it easier for them to craft their message, hone their brand, and manage their audience. Step 2: Navigate to the “Planner” Step 3: Start creating! You can create a post, story, or ad directly on the day you want. You can change the calendar view from week to month for a good birds eye view of the month ahead (or past). You can filter to see only posts, stories or ads. You can also filter to see where you’ve been sharing to–for example to see only the posts you’ve shared in groups vs your own space. This is a great quick way to see if you’re sharing enough (or perhaps too much) in groups. Add photos and videos. Add hashtags. And of course preview everything on both mobile and desktop views! In conclusion, Facebook’s free planner is an excellent tool for content scheduling. It is easy to use, and it allows you to schedule posts months in advance. The planner also provides you with a preview of how your posts will look when they are published. So, if you are looking for an easy way to schedule your content that will both save you time and not cost you a dime, Facebook’s free planner is the tool for you.

Increase your Facebook Reach with This One Simple Trick, and for free.

It’s not a trick. In fact it’s so basic, you’ll be forgiven for forgetting to do it. But I see it all the time when talking to folks that manage their social media pages. Social media isn’t for everyone. Sure, social media consumption in pretty much universal (for good or ill) these days. But creating content, managing it, and most importantly managing your users/brand/presence….that’s a whole other ball game. It does not come naturally to most people. And even when it does, it’s very difficult to sustain. So I don’t blame you for forgetting the simplest of all tools you need to grow your followers. Here’s the trick: Invite people to like and follow you!!! When you post on your own page and you’re lucky enough to get a few post likes, you need to invite those folks to like and/or follow you! When you post in a group and people like that post…invite them to like and/or follow you! Example: Here’s an even more jaw-dropping example. If you’re posting frequently, 7-10 times a week like it’s recommended for a business to do, you’re accumulating a respectable number of engagements. Individually they may not look like much. But day after day, week after week, they do add up! Will all of those people do what you wish and like/follow you? No, sadly they won’t. But some will. And some is a whole lot better than none.
